OK, This Might Be Crossing the Line
Is creating a mannequin depicting an opposing player being hung by a noose that is attached to a hockey stick crossing the decency line? Is it just playoff fandom? You decide.

Oh my god. Definitely crossing the line.
ReplyDeleteCrosses the line. Did the Pensblog encourage them to do that?
ReplyDeleteWooow.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the level of detail that makes it cross the line. Had it be a puppet with a small red wings logo, or something like that, it would have been ok.
But with that effort to make it look real, it's just weird...
When I don't want to show my 8 year old son, it is crossing the line. I wouldn't want him doing something like that for his weekend soccer games.
ReplyDeleteIt is sort of like booing Holmstrom when he stood up after being hurt.
Stay classy Pittsburgh.
Strikes me as fair game. Actually lynching players (or opposing fans), or other actual violence would be out though.
ReplyDeleteIt's creepy, and in bad taste.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely crossing the line.
ReplyDeleteI know the things people make (be it signs, dolls, slogans, etc) are all just in fun and games, but that's just wayyy too far.
not that uncommon
ReplyDeletewhatever noosen up hockey fans....er loosen up hockey fans ..its the finals and anything goes....Go Wings Eh?!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletenow imagine if the noose was around an african american player's neck....that would be crossing the line big time
Pep from Detroit! oz-zie oz-zie!
Haha I think it's okay solely because the lady who's holding the mannequin looks like she'd invite you over for milk and cookies after the game.
ReplyDeleteActually lynching players (or opposing fans), or other actual violence would be out though.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this was clarified.
*hides noose
It's just wrong, way out there, should be pens coach with his arm around the refs and tears running down his face whinning about obstruction!
ReplyDeleteC'mon people, this is hockey at it's finest! Quit being so sensitive! Next, you'll want sensitivity training for hockey fans.
ReplyDeletethe eyes on that mannequin just creep the hell ou of me. It's like he's trying to steal my soul.
ReplyDeleteStupid wings.
