Get to Know Your Bloggers

As you probably know, there are now four of us sharing this here blog. Let me say I'm really glad this is a blog and not a college dorm room. That would be a wee bit crowded and lots of things would get broken during Ryan's drinking games.

So, as you also probably know, it's rather annoying to have to scroll to the bottom of every post to find out who wrote it. I'm working on that, but it may take a bit. Blogger is uncooperative.

In the mean time, to make things easier if, say, you want to ignore everything I write because you hate my guts and only read what Dave writes, there's now an easy way to do that. If you check out the staff list on the left side, there's now a link to everyone's posts next to their name. Hopefully this helps. If anyone has any other ideas, shout them out of course.

And on another subject, you may notice that the blog now redirects to barrymelroserocks.com when you type in the blogspot address. This is because you should get that domain memorized in case we ever leave blogger. Cause it sucks. And we should. And then of course there's that $7 or so I paid Go Daddy. Wouldn't want that to go to waste, especially with the economy the way it is.

An Explanation, An Update, and Some Other Things That Need Talking About

OK, so first off -- I'm sorry. I do owe all of you out there in internet land an apology for leaving so randomly and abruptly.

Secondly, I'm back for a while. I think. The folks at work seem to be OK with the whole blogging thing, and I'm not here to talk about work or say anything about them, so I should be good on that front. Nothing personal, but I don't really want to talk about the whole work thing, other than they were firmly against blogging (hence the leave) and changed their position a bit (woo!). Work is work and I'm going to leave it at work. So, unless they change their mind or something, I should be here.

Thirdly, I hope you've been enjoying the new folks here. They have really stepped up to the plate and I'm thrilled to have Dave and LD here. Also glad to have Ryan still on board and taking a bigger role. I don't even know what would have happened without them, and frankly don't want to think about it. I think it's all going to be a lot better thanks to a four-headed monster. Three daddies and a mommy. You all will be some screwed up kids. But it's a lot of fresh, new stuff from some people you may or may not have read before. Or maybe you're reading the site now because your favorite blogger is now on board. In that case, welcome!

The four of us will all be around randomly, with really the only certainty right now being Ryan in on Thursdays for the usual. The site will be updated twice a day during the work week at the very least, which is great.

Fourthly, I think I needed the week off. Recharge the batteries and things like that. I've spent the better part of the last few days just reading everything that's been posted everywhere. Just taking it all in. And it's awesome. There's a lot of smart writers and great blogs out there. It's really unbelievable. I didn't get to do as much of that when I was writing a few times a day.

The New Sheriff

Hi. I'm Ryan. You might remember me from such things as last Thursday. Despite all the deserved commotion as Kevin steps away (we may see him again. We'll see) and the addition of Loser Domi and Dave WufPirate (it's German, I believe) you may have forgotten about me. Don't, please. My mom says I'm very important.
The thing is, I'm going to be taking care of BMR here, so, instead of harassing Kevin with your Islander related taunts, harass me with Wild related taunts! My e-mail is over on the side there, thevictimes[at]gmail.com (because I write at The Victoria Times as well, see. Check it out if you want to read about not hockey some time.)
Now, what can you expect in terms of changes? Probably not much. I mean, the three of us, Ms. Domi, Mr. WufPirate and I, all have different styles from each other, and from Kevin, but we all love hockey, like mullets and hate the Leafs appreciate tips and comments. In the months ahead, look forward to somewhat fewer Youtube videos and a lot more parenthesees. I am a parenthetical whore.
Dave and LD will be in tomorrow and Wednesday, and we may yet see Mr. Schultz before he rides off into the sunset later this evening.

Introducing Your Newest Blogger Overlords!

Well regardless of what happens to me, we're going to be bringing in a few brand spanking new bloggers to liven things up a bit around here.

Today I'm proud to announce two new additions to the staff. They will of course have to go through all of the ritual hazing, so please, get your pitchforks and torches ready. Wait... No those are for riots and/or Frankenstein attacks. Nevermind. Anyway...

The first blogger you are probably very familiar with. From the critically acclaimed Wide World of Loser Domi, as well as our very own comments section, Loser Domi! She is having some connection issues at the moment, so she may be missing for a little while. But at some point, I think she will turn up.

The next blogger is a big Carolina Hurricanes fan, Dave aka Wuf Pirate from Carolina On Ice! Dave has also been hanging around our corner of the internet a while, so you may also be very familiar with him.

So please no pitchforks, and help me welcome our two new overlords!

It's Official -- We are Now a Two Headed Monster

While everyone around the NHL may be out celebrating the Gretzky trade, we're celebrating an acquisition of our own today. In a little under two weeks on August 21st, this show will no longer be a one man band. Today I am proud to announce the most important, free agent signing in the history of BMR.

A familiar face to all of you, Ryan Henning from the Victoria Times will be joining us on a regular basis beginning on the 21st. Ryan will be filing reports from his parents' basement in Minnesota every Thursday. We can only hope that he will also be unshaven and in only his underwear, so as to dutifully live up to the blogger stereotype.
